Metal Sculptures

Artist Henry Dupere, once an aircraft welder, toolmaker and manufacturing engineer, now combines his skills with his imagination and sense of humor to create a variety of creatures. Each piece may be displayed indoors or outdoors. Click on image for larger view.

Yardbirds are handcrafted in Louisville, Kentucky. Each Yardbirds sculpture is created with scrap and recycled parts. Since they are made from recycled materials each dog, cat, or other critter is slightly imperfect. All of the Junkyard Dogs & Cats are bare metal and naturally rust with age -- that's their beauty. As Rich Kolb, the artist, says "They rust, but they'll never run away." He recommends treating them with a clear acrylic enamel spray.
